Fostering a dog is a lot of work but also extremely rewarding. You are saving the dog from living in a shelter, boarding facility, or an untimely demise if the shelter is a kill shelter. Fostering is not only providing shelter, food, companionship but also learning about the dog’s personality and working with the dog to overcome behavior issues and basic training to aid in its chances of finding a forever home.

I have foster failed and I have said good byes to fosters who I wish I had foster failed. Knowing the foster is in a better home and is being spoiled makes the pain just a little bit manageable.

I hope this site will help any first time fosters’ experience smoother by being a helpful place to find resources. Whether you are a first timer or an experienced foster, I hope you will find something useful here.

Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever. ― Karen Davison
